Quaker Wedding Certificates

A one-of-a-kind Keepsake

Every custom detail is as unique as the couple.

Many couples use the tradition of Quaker Wedding Certificates to commemorate their wedding ceremony. They develop a personalized certificate that contains the marriage information, vows, their own signatures, and the signatures of each guest. These hand-lettered, original documents may also be embellished with illustrations or a quotation important to the couple.

I will work with you to get every detail just right, including the style of calligraphy, the colors and imagery, and the overall design. I use archival paints, inks, and papers to create this lasting document of your commitment and the promise of support of your family and friends.

Traditions

Celtic knots have no beginning or end and have significant symbolic meaning, representing love, family, protection, unity, and strength.

Borders

“The whole mountain appeared as one glorious manifestation of divine power,  glowing like a countenance with ineffable repose and beauty.

~ John Muir on Mt. Hood

No wonder I am asked to portray this mountain on so many wedding certificates.

Canopy

This certificate bursts with the colors of Justin and Allison’s favorite botanicals.

Illustrations

Including a wedding’s venue on the certificate is an intimate way to capture the memory of your vows and celebration.

Calligraphy Only

The art of calligraphy in itself can be ornate or simple, timeless, and most beautiful.

Wreath

The wreath, a never-ending circle, visually holds the couple and their promises within the protective signatures of all those present in love and support.
